Elder Kevin L. Williams, Sr.


Elder WilliamsElder Kevin L. Williams, Sr., was born February 7, 1959 in Warren Ohio.  He is the second of five children born to the late Sterling D. Williams, Sr. and Georgiana W. Williams.  He has two sisters and two brothers. He is the husband of Alicia R. Williams and the father of five, Krystilynn, Kevin Jr., Je’Lasa, Amaya, & Paige.  Elder Williams was baptized in June 1965 and was ordained March 8, 2000, by the late Rev. Henry Williams at Branch Bell Baptist Church under the auspices of the First District Missionary Association.

Elder Williams served as a Sunday School Teacher, Youth Counselor and in the Outreach Ministry.   Elder Williams began his education in the New Orleans Public School System and later graduated from Warren Western Reserve in Warren, Ohio.

After returning to New Orleans, he furthered his education by attending Delgado Community College and also Union Baptist College and Theological Seminary and Christian Bible College.  Elder Williams has resumed his studies and is currently re-enrolled at Union Baptist College and Theological Seminary.

On October 31, 2004, Elder Williams was installed as Pastor of Ekklesia Bible Study Church, where he pastored until the church was destroyed in Hurricane Katrina.  On May 29, 2011, Elder Williams was installed as the seventh pastor of Branch Bell Baptist Church.

Elder Williams favorite scripture is Philippians 4:8, Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are gracious; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
